I wanted to share something this week that is very dear to my heart.  PODCASTS!!! I listen to probably 20 different podcasts at various times throughout the week.  I really found that I have gained so much knowledge on so many different topics since I started listening to them.

What is a Podcast?

A Podcast is a series of audio files made available online. Most podcasts are structured like TV or Radio shows with different seasons and episodes.  Many of these episodes and seasons focus on varied topics and feature special guests. They are very convenient to download and you can listen to them whenever you want. 

I download all my podcasts on my IPAD. The little purple podcast app above  has a plethora of options for podcasts. If you don’t have an apple product and you want to download podcasts onto your computer.  There is a link below on how to download these podcasts. You can also go onto the sites of these podcasts and download them from the site.


Podcasts have been around for a long time but they are just now starting to become popular. I’m always sharing my love for podcasts with friends and family and it always surprises me that they have no idea what I am talking about.  There is about 150,000 podcasts worldwide and worldwide podcasts awareness is about 45% but it’s on the rise.

There are four different types of podcasts

  1. The Queue – 2 to 4 minutes long- Nice when you have a free minute
  2. The Commute-18 to 25 minutes- Nice to listen to on your way to and from work
  3. The Conditioner – 30 to 45 minutes- Could be a commute but nice to listen to while your making dinner or doing crafts
  4. The Companion- 1 hour to 1 ½ hours- You have a relationship with this podcast and your listen to it religiously

TED Radio Hour: I think everyone knows what TED talks are these days. People pay $8,000 to go to TED Talk conventions where they have various speakers and you can get it for FREE!!!
